Still recovering from the election campaign, but lifted by things like Caroline Lucas’s radical voice on Any Questions on Radio 4 last week. A beacon of sanity in the vile new world of the Con Lib coalition.

Caroline will be speaking at a meeting next week in Brighton, Don’t Mourn, Organise! organised by UNISON. She will be on a platform with Sussex UCU (currently striking for jobs), Brighton RMT(currently balloting for jobs), NUT (just boycotted SATs tests) Brighton & Hove Unison, Brighton Benefits Campaign and a Greek activist.

Its aim is to bring together all those prepared to support trade unionists at the frontline of resisting the coming Tory onslaught.

I will be going to a similar local initiative this Thursday. Bob Crow will be the main speaker at a public meeting organised by North East Shop Stewards Network, After the elections: Where next for the unions?

The meeting is supported by the Tyne and Wear Left Unity coalition.

It’s at the Royal Station Hotel next to Central Station, Newcastle from 7 – 9pm.

Lots more coming up, so will try to post here more regularly!

Another bit of good news – the Green Festival is back – Saturday & Sunday 5th/6th June in Leazes Park, Newcastle. We’ll have a Green Party stall there, so come along and meet us.

And what better time to join us now!
