Red and Green activists came together right across the country on September 17th to demand the Government save the Vestas wind turbine factory on the Isle of Wight. I spoke at the rally in Newcastle called by the Campaign Against Climate Change and Workers Climate Action.

There were rallies, marches and public meetings in Birmingham, Cardiff, Coventry, Manchester, Newport on the Isle of Wight, outside the Dept of Energy and Climate Change in London, Rotherham, at the Southampton Vestas factory and the HQ of Vestas in Warrington. These were organised variously by Campaign Against Climate Change, Birmingham TUC, unions including NUJ, NUT, PCS, UCU and the RMT (the striking Vestas workers’ union), Coventry Trade Union Council and the Green Party.

Red and Green!

Red and Green in solidarity

Vestas are closing this factory and moving production to the USA, when they have just received £6 million of public money. Complain to this greedy multinational at or 01925 857 100
