I had expected everything to stop immediately after the election, but in fact I have been almost equally busy since. I guess that’s the reward for the hard work put in during the campaign – lots of new members, more media interest and coverage, campaign issues we’ve taken up continuing to generate work…

These include the Keep Metro Public campaign, which is getting more intense with the renationalisation of the east coast mainline and one of the four bidders pulling out. We went to lobby Mr Miliband MP for South Shields and he promised to raise our concerns, but it is a huge task to get them to see sense and stop the whole privatisation process.

So apologies for long gap since last post. I do intend to be more diligent – but I  am on holiday first for a couple of weeks. Hope to return recharged!
